'Time, Space and Change' CD Launch

CD release on Divine/Metier featuring OSL recorded live at the Brighton Festival 2018 performing Ed Hughes's 'Cuckmere: A Portrait'. CD featured on Sunday Times 'Top 100 CDs' list in December 2020 and 'Top 10%' in the American Record Guide January 2021. Recording featured in Echoes Interactive Walks App and on BBC South East Today 9 Sept 2020. Cuckmere Soundwalk nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in the Sound Art category 10 Nov 2021.

Cuckmere: A Portrait: Schools Performance

 

World premiere performance as part of the Brighton Festival 2018 at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts (ACCA), University of Sussex. 32 new scores by GCSE and A level music students at Hastings Academy, St Richards College, Bexhill, BHASVIC, Brighton and ESAM, Lewes to Cesca Eaton's film. Written and performed by the students with the five core OSL players conducted by Ed Hughes. Plus Ed Hughes's 'Cuckmere: A Portrait' performed by the OSL Quintet. Cuckmere: A Portrait: world premiere at

Brighton Festival

​

OSL performed the world premiere of 'Cuckmere: A Portrait', a new score for 18 musicians by Ed Hughes to a new 30' film by Cesca Eaton. Performance at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts, University of Sussex as part of Brighton Festival 2018.

Cuckmere 2018: March and April workshops

​

OSL presented workshops at Hastings Academy and St Richards Catholic College, Bexhill to develop new scores to Cesca Eaton's film. GCSE students worked in groups of 4-6 students with OSL musicians to devise, develop and perform their own scores to 3' extracts from Cesca's film.
